Reviews About the Milford Track, and New Zealand More Broadly
Exceptional Manuka with Amanda and Holly
“The Manuka trip was exceptional. It was extremely well planned out. We were lucky to have had great weather and a group that got along together very well. There was great raw material to work with – NZ has great natural beauty and a variety of climate zones that allow for exceptional hiking. In addition, Amanda and Holly were outstanding guides – attentive to our needs in hiking and constantly striving to provide the best meals possible, taking into account our various dietary requirements.” – Bruce Benton, Active Adventures New Zealand ‘Manuka’ trip, March 2017
This Trip Had It All
“The Manuka Trip, including the Milford Track, has everything. Excellent guides who can cook, drive, entertain, and keep us on track and safe. The mix of hikes, accommodations and scenery were non stop breathtaking. The companionship that we developed will make this a trip I will long remember.” – Terry Born, Active Adventures New Zealand ‘Manuka’ trip, February 2016
Exceeded My Expectations
“We have to correct people when they ask how was the vacation. “It wasn’t a vacation; it was an adventure.” The hikes were glorious and they tested us. Even though we got a lot of rain on our Milford Track excursion, we couldn’t stop grinning. It was like a fair tale. Our guides were wonderful – knowledgeable, helpful and full of energy. We’re planning on a return trip to tackle the Routeburn Track.” – Jim and Colleen Santori, Active Adventures New Zealand ‘Manuka’ trip, November 2015
Private Takahe with Dan T
“We were the inaugural upscale Takahe trip. New Zealand is spectacularly beautiful and Dan went out of his way to make sure that every aspect of our trip was as perfect as humanly possible. We loved the West Coast of the South Island. The high point of the trip was the Milford Track, although I do think they put the mile markers further apart the closer you get to the end! Dan is the guide I want with me if something ever goes wrong on a trip. He is very resourceful and I would trust him with my life.” – Sandi & Don Buswell-Charkow, Active Adventures New Zealand ‘Takahe’ trip, April 2014
Great Time With Kiwis
“Only one regret regarding our travels in NZ: the trip ended far too fast. Two weeks sounds like quite a bit of time, but the sights, sounds, tastes & fragrances just went far too fast. Our two guides were great; friendly, humorous & knowledgeable, and helpful without “hovering”. The trip included the right mix of challenge and creature comforts to allow a feeling of adventure, with comfort at day’s end. Both of us have enjoyed the Inca Trail in Peru and this trip, with the Milford Track included, compares favourably. Looking for outdoor adventure with some creature comforts? Active NZ should be where to look!” – Alan & Cris Ryker, Active Adventures New Zealand ‘Manuka’ trip, April 2013

Trip Reviews
Where do I start?! New Zealand had been number one on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and it didn’t disappoint. Don’t wait another moment, if New Zealand is the dream, find a way! The ‘Manuka’ trip was beyond any expectations I could have dreamed of! Yes it was physical, but our amazing guides Claire and Jess kept me going and the accomplishment and the views were always worth it. I have memories that will last a lifetime, best money I have EVER spent. Trust me, don’t wait! Go!
